What is a Glimmer?
A glimmer is a small, fleeting moment that sparks joy, comfort, or sometimes a sense of safety and connection. Glimmers are tiny instances that make you feel good, even if just for a moment. They can even help you regulate your nervous system and connect with positive emotions.
For example:
- Feeling warmth from the sun on your face.

- Savoring a sip of your favourite drink.
- Seeing the sun shine through the clouds.
The concept of glimmers originates from trauma-informed therapy and the work of Deb Dana, who applies polyvagal theory to help people understand how to recognise and cultivate positive cues in their environment. By focusing on glimmers, you can create more moments of grounding and wellbeing in daily life.

Who are we?
We’re Mark and Helen, founders of The Wellness Glade . We are both huge lovers of nature and the great outdoors, and you’ll often find us walking through forests or down by the sea. And we all know, how being outside and in nature is great for our mental wellbeing.
We look for inspriation, joy, and happiness in the small things often found in nature as well as everyday life. We have learnt to spot those glimmers everywhere, in each and every thing around us, no matter the size.
